Niades Brachetto d’Acqui
Although some big companies make large amounts of Brachetto, production on the level of a small estate such as Cascina Garitina is extremely limited and herein lays the difference. There are a lot of Brachetto wines out there now and they’re all great fun, but many are rather thin and syrupy (and expensive) –more like light liqueurs than wine. And it is exactly that ‘winey’ aspect of this estate-bottled Brachetto, darker than most, with well-defined structure and real-wine character (and a very fair price!), which we feel distinguishes the Brachetto of Cascina Garitina. If you enjoy Brachetto and want to try a new one, or if you’ve never tried one before, we urge you to try this delicious and charming sparkler.
